HOW ARE SEMI-CURED GEL STRIPS DIFFERENT FROM OTHER NAIL WRAPS?
Semi-cured gel strips are nail strips made of partly cured gel nail polish. Most nail strips/wraps are made of traditional nail polish but those can be thin, can chip easily, and removal can be difficult. Semi-cured gel strips are different because they’re made of real gel nail polish, that makes them thicker, stronger, & more durable (like a salon gel polish manicure, without having to paint it on). Because they are thicker & stronger than a regular nail wrap, they are removed more like a press-on nail, all in one piece, and don’t have to be soaked in acetone or scraped off!
HOW ARE SEMI-CURED GEL STRIPS MADE?
The SCG strips have 3 layers: -At the bottom is the adhesive layer, this is how the SCG strip sticks to the nail, it’s similar to the adhesive that’s on bandaids or on medical tape! -On top of the adhesive layer, and in the middle of the strip, is the color layer, this layer can be made of gel nail polish or another material to form a design. -The top layer is the clear layer, this layer is made with a clear gel.
GEL NAIL POLISH VS. SEMI-CURED GEL STRIPS
SCG strips stick to the nail via adhesive instead of the gel itself chemically bonding to the nail plate. Because of this, SCG strips are much more gentle on the nail, and much easier to remove than gel nail polish! TIP: You can add whatever gel you want on top of the strips, as long as it’s a uv gel polish (sometimes called “soak off” polish) it can be used over the gel strips! Members love to add glitter top coats, decals, & sequins. No matter what’s on top of your strip, removal stays the same!
DO SCG STRIPS REQUIRE CURING WITH A LAMP SINCE THEY ARE MADE OUT OF GEL?
YES! When the SCG strips are in the box, they are only 50%-60% cured. This is why we have to cure them after applying them. It is important to make sure all of your gels are thoroughly cured, all the way through.
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO GET?
IN ADDITION TO THE GEL STRIPS, YOU WILL ALSO NEED:
NAIL LAMP (any nail lamp will work. If you already have one, you can use that!) UV GEL TOPCOAT aka “soak-off topcoat” (some of the gel strips brands make their own versions, but any brand will do! If you already have a UV gel topcoat, you can use that!)
GEL STRIP REMOVER (like cexynail Easy Peel Remover or cexynail Magic Off)
HOW DO I APPLY THEM? 
APPLICATION DIRECTIONS FOR BEGINERS For the first few, I always recommend sticking to the basics, you can add in other things, like a base product, later on if needed, but most people don’t need “tricks” or other extra products. Generally, semicured gel strips stick best when applied directly to the natural nail.
Application:
Push back cuticles
Wash hands with dish soap (this helps to remove oils from the hands and nails) Rough up nail plates (the tops of the nails where the strips will stick) with the file included in the gel nail kit. Take the file and buff it along the nail plates a few times. Don’t be too rough though. Nails should feel rough to the touch. Never buff nails smooth before beginning. Adhesive sets better to a rough surface. When done correctly, this does not thin or damage the natural nails. Buffing the shiny layer off is a step done before any nail enhancement in a salon setting as well.
Wipe nails and finger tips with alcohol wipe from gel nail kit- wait for them to air dry
Apply strips, press them down, and trim excess strip length with nail clippers (the cutting does not have to be perfect, just get the majority of the length off, we will file them perfectly smooth later)
Using your finger, make friction and rub the edges of the strips down, do this multiple times (this helps to nicely tapper the edge of the strip)
Cure 2-5 60 second cure cycles (until done-may take more) 
File strips to the exact length as your natural nail (they file much cleaner and easier after curing)
Re-wash hands or use an alcohol wipe to get the file dusties off the hands/nails Apply gel top coat
Cure 1-2 more times (60 sec each, until done)
OPTIONAL: If you’d like to add more strength, you can do another coat of the gel topcoat, cure Done!
TIPS FOR SEMI-CURED GEL STRIPS: 
Never apply gel strips in the sun! WHILE APPLYING STRIPS, KEEP UNUSED STRIPS AWAY FROM RAYS OF NAIL LAMP & ANY SUNLIGHT. ANY UV RAYS FROM YOUR NAIL LAMP OR THE SUN WILL RUIN THE STRIPS AND YOUR OTHER GEL PRODUCTS. NEVER APPLY GEL PRODUCTS OUTSIDE, IN THE CAR, OR IN FRONT OF A WINDOW! ALWAYS USE ARTIFICIAL LIGHT (light bulbs) DO NOT SHOWER, SWIM, BATHE CHILDREN, OR DO DISHES RIGHT AFTER DOING A GEL STRIP MANI! 
Avoid prolonged exposure to water for at least 10 hours for the adhesive to set properly. Washing hands is fine, we want to avoid hands being in water a long time. Do dishes and bathing before your mani.
